Right click on the taskbar, select Task Manager, find the Windows Explorer and then click Restart at the right bottom of task Manager. I did the Actions > Reset and that allowed me to open files on the desktop but not folders so I reinstalled Parallel tools and now it works perfectly. Not only is there a double click problem but even the menu items from task manager is lost :S I am in grave tension ..
