Please advice. Bob, Unfortunately (only because it would help define the issue) I haven't gotten any odd web pages come up when I load Firefox (what I primarily use) or IE 7. However, I did a complete restoration and now I notice the same Windows Update (KB973879) available for installation in today's (9/1/09) updates. I found it a bit late, although new it has got to be the update, yet decided to spend over an hour waiting, and an hour talking to HP tech support If I can, I will. Then reinstall XP.
